MindSphere Future Water Hack

Siemens MindSphere wants to take one step further and change the future of the digital world through the Mindsphere Future World Series. In order to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow - innovation needs to move forward with cutting-edge solutions that make urban living more sustainable, connected, and reliable  through the power of IoT.  Join the action from October 2021 to March 2022. 

The Challenge: Create a cutting-edge IoT app  in MindSphere, Siemens’ IIoT as a service solution, that  combats the pressing question: How can smart water contribute to a resilient and sustainable smart city? These 5 examples can, but don't have to, serve as inspiration for you:

• Which benefits can be created by combining the Energy and Water nexus?
• How can the water demand be predicted from operational, weather forecast and historical data? Which optimization potential can be achieved?
• How can the water industry benefit from ontologies and knowledge graph technology?
• How can we reduce the carbon footprint of the water supply chain?
• How can intelligent dashboarding prevent disruptions in the water supply?

These solutions must be derived from startups and innovative companies with the capacity to bring their ideas to life. We will be looking for adaptable/scalable/reusable solutions, fit to MindSphere (description and sketched architecture), solving real-life problems, innovation and creativity when choosing the right participants for both the Online Bootcamp and the Onsite Hack in Dubai. To help understand and undertake the challenge, Siemens will provide mentors!

Hackathon Timeline: 

• 5th of January, 2022: End of applications. Apply here before this date. Create your Siemens account, then submit your application.
• 13th of January, 2022: Shortlisted Startups Announcement.
• 17th-24th of January, 2022: Online Bootcamp. Learn more about the challenge, get access to useful resources, and refine your solution with Siemens experts.
• 26th of January, 2022: Bootcamp Online Pitch. Pitch your solution to Siemens jury members and get selected for the Hack in Dubai.
• 6th-10th of March, 2022: Hack in Dubai. Develop your solution at Expo 2020 in Dubai, pitch it to the final jury and live a unique experience in Dubai.

The finalist startups will be granted an all-inclusive experience in Dubai at Expo 2020! Get ready to be at the heart of innovation.
